But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?

We are a Christian family, located in the beautiful green hills of North Central Missouri. We strive to walk a plain, simple and separated life, in loving obedience to our Heavenly Father. We are not perfect, but being perfected every day. We know this world is NOT our home and we are citizens of a Heavenly Kingdom, but we are thankful the Lord brought us here to this lovely place in His Creation.
If you were not raised in a scripturally based home, you know how important giving your children the foundation of a godly home is.
A lukewarm faith and church life is not that which is pleasing in the Lord's sight.
As parents, we are accountable before God to provide loving, obedient homes where our children can be raised up in the fear and admonition of the Lord. We personally know all too well that when we, the parents, are just learning these biblical principles due to a lack of teaching in our own childhood homes, it puts the family at risk.
There is but one criteria...is that person truly following The Lord Jesus Christ in Faith and Practice, or are they following the world and casting an occasional cheap and shallow homage towards His Most High and Holy Name? The Word of God tells us, as recorded in the book of Hebrews, chapter 5, verses 8-10 concerning this same Lord Jesus, The Saviour and God,
"Though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered; and being made perfect, He became the Author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him; called of God a High Priest after the order of Melchizedek."
The book of 1st John, chapter 2, verses 15-17 further commands us,
"Love not the world, neither the things in the world. If any man love the world, the love of The Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of The Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the Will of God abideth forever."
Such is the dividing line between those that pretend and those that strive to be transformed in Jesus Christ.
We know the consequences of a what a life lived for self and sin can be,
even for those of us who do finally turn away from our sinful lives to follow Christ.
It is a terrible pill to have to swallow but let our sorrow help to encourage you to make whatever sacrifices are necessary - nothing is too much in light of your child's eternal soul - you, as parents are responsible for the foundation your child has - whether it is built on the Rock, Jesus Christ or on the slipping sand of the world and it's ways.
There are many other sincere brothers and sisters in Christ who are leaving behind "Vanity Fair" to walk on the Pilgrim Way. You are not alone in desiring a better way - The Way! We encourage you to make the changes necessary for the sake of your family.
We are living as in the days of Noah. Are you building an Ark for the salvation of your family?
Or are you, like those people who perished in the flood, ignoring God's Word to your utter destruction? Are you doing all you can do to ensure you and the children placed in your care and keeping do not perish?
We can either strive to spend eternity together in Paradise with exclamations of wonder, joy and thanksgiving, or through neglect and lack of true submission to God, spend eternity in the torments of Hell, with never ending agonized accusations and blame.
"I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey His voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto Him: for He is thy life, and the length of thy days..." Deut. 30:19,20a

By : Isaac Watts, appended to his Sermons, published 1721-4; Watts wrote this hymn in conjunction with a sermon he was giving on 1 Corinthians 16:13.
Am I a soldier of the cross,
A follower of the Lamb,
And shall I fear to own His cause,
Or blush to speak His Name?
Must I be carried to the skies
On flowery beds of ease,
While others fought to win the prize,
And sailed through bloody seas?
Are there no foes for me to face?
Must I not stem the flood?
Is this vile world a friend to grace,
To help me on to God?
Sure I must fight if I would reign;
Increase my courage, Lord.I
’ll bear the toil, endure the pain,
Supported by Thy Word.
Thy saints in all this glorious war
Shall conquer, though they die;
They see the triumph from afar,
By faith’s discerning eye.
When that illustrious day shall rise,
And all Thy armies shine
In robes of victory through the skies,
The glory shall be Thine.
